Calculation notes
Methodology
This page explains the calculation choices behind the chart. It helps you compare results from different calculators without treating any tradition as scientifically predictive.
Inputs
The calculator uses the birth date, local clock time, birthplace, selected reading year, and the stated time-zone and solar-term rules. When birth time is unknown, hour-based results remain uncertain rather than being presented as precise.
Chart layers
The result presents the Year, Month, Day, and Hour Pillars, Day Master, Five Element relationships, Ten Gods, Luck Pillar, and selected annual pillar. These are traditional rule-based relationships, not measured traits or probabilities.
Why results can differ
Different schools may use different day boundaries, true-solar-time corrections, daylight-saving history, solar-term boundaries, and Luck Pillar conventions. Compare methods and inputs before comparing conclusions. See the calculator comparison article.
