I Ching / COLLECTION 2
Collection Two: paired readings of representative hexagrams
Compare Qian/Kun, Zhun/Meng, Xu/Song, Tai/Pi, Sun/Yi and Jiji/Weiji through the objects, timing and qualifications of hexagram statements and selected lines. Retain classical literal forms and the cross-scan Xu continuation without extrapolating a rule for all sixty-four hexagrams.
Six complete original readings compare Qian/Kun, Zhun/Meng, Xu/Song, Tai/Pi, Sun/Yi and Jiji/Weiji through 35 selected classical statements. Objects, timing, qualifications and literal forms remain distinct. Xu upper six crosses volume two scans 25 and 26, with both locations supplied; scan indices are not verified manuscript folios. Muromachi and responsibility fields belong to the B046-0003 catalogue, not an independently inspected copy date or authenticated holograph. Punctuation, translations and original figures are our analysis, not older annotation, complete transcription or full collation, or proof of real-life prediction.
- READING 01
How can the different roles of Qian and Kun be read from the text?
Compare the agents, actions and qualifications of Qian and Kun while keeping classical statements and later interpretations distinct.
- READING 02
How do Zhun and Meng frame beginnings and learning differently?
Read the objects of beginning, proceeding and asking before turning neighbouring hexagrams into one generic growth story.
- READING 03
How can Xu and Song be read without modern waiting and dispute slogans?
Compare the qualified river-crossing and trust language in the two texts without converting divination words into legal guidance.
- READING 04
Why are Tai and Pi not permanent labels of good and bad fortune?
Keep the general openness/blockage statements and their selected line reversals at separate scales.
- READING 05
Why can Sun and Yi not be read directly as financial losses and gains?
Study measure, recipient and ritual context instead of using the titles as asset-price signals.
- READING 06
Why can Jiji and Weiji close a reading series without making completion final?
Compare beginnings, endings and the repeated wet-tail image across two separately qualified scenes.
