Use a BaZi Reading Checklist Before Drawing Conclusions
BaZi Reading Checklist: Separate Facts, Rules, and Interpretation
Use this checklist before drawing a conclusion from a chart.
Input check: date confirmed; local clock time confirmed; birthplace confirmed; historical time zone checked; daylight-saving checked; automatic solar-time rule recorded; solar-term or midnight boundary noted.
Chart check: year, month, day, and hour pillars recorded; Day Master identified; visible Five Elements listed; hidden-stem display understood; Ten Gods labels traced back to their positions; Luck Pillar method recorded.
Interpretation check: describe what the chart shows before explaining what a tradition might mean; distinguish a repeated relationship from a single symbol; note which school or definition is being used; record uncertainty instead of filling gaps with invented precision.
Decision check: do not convert a symbolic label into a medical diagnosis, investment instruction, legal conclusion, safety decision, or guaranteed event. For an important decision, return to evidence, qualified advice, and the person's actual circumstances.
Example: Jordan sees a strong-looking annual label. Jordan records the input and method, checks the natal chart, writes the traditional interpretation in one column, and lists real-world evidence in another. The chart becomes a reflection prompt rather than the sole decision-maker.
Suggested sequence: verify inputs; verify pillars; find Day Master; review Five Elements; read Ten Gods; add Luck Pillars and annual timing; compare interpretations with reality; document the result and its limits.
