When a formation appears, ask what the paragraph changes: permission to use one previously restricted factor, or entry into another reading route? Then retain the conditions accompanying that change. The identified Waseda print's third-month Jia Metal and Earth branches perform different jobs. Their common month section does not make them “every formation is favorable,” or “every formation cancels all previous priorities.”
The witness is Bunko19 F0111, with printing year unresolved and physical Wang, 網, distinct from catalogued Gang, 綱.[4,5] Three finite selections establish the argument's structure. They do not calculate a person's fate, supply unquoted constituent branches or reconstruct every formation across ten stems and twelve months.
The Metal branch changes permission to use Ding
At scan 11, left half, printed four, the third-month Jia text says: if the branches form a Metal formation, only then may Ding be used; otherwise this third-month clause has no method of using Ding, and taking Geng first and Ren afterward remains.[1] If opens a branch, only then attaches permission to it, and otherwise/no identify the local restriction when it does not apply.
We can therefore record permission for Ding under the Metal-formation premise. “Do not use Ding” alone omits the preceding permission; “use Ding” alone omits its required condition. The closing Geng-before-Ren clause also shows that the words formation do not erase every selection and priority.
The excerpt names a Metal formation but does not list its constituent branches. Inserting Shen, You and Chou into its diagram imports knowledge from another location into these words. This article preserves the formation name and checks its argumentative job. Constituents, disruptions and other branches in the same month need separate locators.
The Earth branch also requires absent Water and disclosed stems
The right half of the same scan, printed three, contains: if there is no Water at all in the pillars, Wu and Ji are disclosed in the stems, and the branches form an Earth formation, it is additionally read as abandoning the self and following cai.[2] The physical wording prints 才; the literal excerpt retains it. An explanation may relate it to the traditional following-Wealth name without pretending a normalized 財 was printed here.
This branch does not mention an Earth formation alone. No Water at all and disclosed Wu/Ji occur before the new reading name. A table with only an Earth-formation checkbox cannot check those other fields. Familiarity with following-Wealth terminology does not make printed qualifications dispensable.
Additionally read as distinguishes this branch from Ding permission. Here the text switches to another named route; the Metal clause permits a factor within its month discussion. Comparing them identifies different kinds of rule change. It does not establish identical treatment of all Metal or Earth formations throughout the book.
A name does not complete every determination
The Earth sentence is an actual conditional branch, not a complete birth chart. Its excerpt does not supply a full year, day and hour, or establish every necessary and sufficient condition for following cai. We may explain how it keeps qualifications and switches entry, but cannot invent the missing pillars and claim an authenticated completed case.
Combination, formation, following and transformation also need separate textual checks. These selections say branches forming Metal or Earth, and the Earth clause additionally names following cai. Neither says every combination already transforms; neither automatically joins the terms into one process. Record actual verbs rather than replacing every relation change with a familiar combination/transformation slogan.
The names belong to a historical divinatory model. Explaining syntax and levels of rule change does not make them observed chemical processes, or validate their associated social-rank predictions for modern lives. No experimental measures or accuracy rates accompany these excerpts.
Month scope still limits extension
At scan 10, the combined first/second-month Jia discussion says there is ordinarily no basis for choosing following cai, following Killing or following transformation.[3] This denial has a stem/month scope. Moving it directly into the third-month entry would delete a branch that entry actually admits. Moving the third-month permission backward would cancel the earlier section's own restriction.
The comparison shows why entry matters as well as month. “Jia may follow Wealth” does not specify where or under what conditions. “Jia can never follow” may merely extract a local denial. Both abstractions flatten scopes the witness handles separately.
The denial is used here only to check boundaries: a shared Jia subject does not guarantee identical monthly qualifications or entry routes. This sample does not exhaust either section's exceptions, so its selected denial is not packaged as a critical conclusion covering all surrounding material.
Recheck a changed relation in three steps
| Check | Metal/Ding branch | Earth/following-cai branch |
|---|---|---|
| Paragraph scope | Third-month Jia | Third-month Jia |
| Printed trigger qualifications | Branches forming Metal | No Water at all; Wu/Ji disclosed; branches forming Earth |
| Judgment changed | Ding permitted only then; otherwise locally denied | Additionally read as abandoning self/following cai |
| Matters still requiring retrieval | Geng before Ren and omitted month branches | Joint qualification check and other unselected wording |
First locate the paragraph, then preserve every trigger, then identify what changes. With that order, a formation is a signal to read further rather than an answer prematurely occupying the conclusion field.
If a qualification cannot be established from available material, leave it unverified. Seeing an Earth character cannot supply a formation; seeing a formation name cannot supply absent Water or disclosed Wu/Ji. Visible gaps keep a label from silently replacing evidence.

Keep the source branch when returning to priorities
The previous article separates fifth- and sixth-month priorities. These formation selections add another check: after a relation changes, continued use of a priority under its old entry requires textual support. Storing only Geng before Ren while deleting its third-month scope and formation branches removes that support.
Nor should every relation change be described as requiring an entirely new system. The Metal clause provides local permission; the Earth clause explicitly names another reading. That difference comes from the selected words. Preserving it makes further comparison between paragraphs possible.
Revisit the first collection's priority article for the Metal clause's surrounding scope, and Ten Gods basics for Wealth terminology. The useful outcome is a record of scope, triggers, changed judgment and remaining unknowns, rather than a direction to supplement Phases, purchase objects or intervene in real life.
