Qualifications for genuine or apparent following and transformation

Keep strict following premises and the local Jia/Ji time/number/position/exclusion conditions; si ji is unexpanded and usable apparent transformation remains apparent.

Genuine and apparent following or transformation must be attached to their respective qualifications. Weakness, combination or a tendency has not yet established the genuine state. An apparent state is likewise not a forged fact or necessarily unusable. We read this witness’s four branches separately instead of combining them into an automatic score.

In the 1936 Jiyao, the section begins at scan 23, printed page 18. Genuine following continues to scan 24; genuine transformation and apparent following occur there, printed page 19. Apparent transformation occupies scan 25, printed page 20, before Cycles and Years. Opening sentences, recorded explanation and parenthetical notes have distinct roles. The Jia/Ji example below is local, not a complete qualification table for every transformation.

Genuine following needs more than weak

The opening says that once following is genuine, discuss following.[1] Genuine establishment is the premise, not permission to skip its checks. The explanation requires the day master to be isolated, weak and without qi; the three origins of heaven, earth and human to contain not the slightest intention of generating assistance; and Wealth, Officer and similar factors to be exceedingly strong. Only then does it call the state genuine following.[2]

Keep every qualification and the consequent only then. “The day master is somewhat weak, therefore following” weakens without qi and absolutely none, and removes the strength of the followed side. We preserve the strictness of the old wording without inventing a numerical threshold for slightest or exceedingly strong.

This passage also supplies no complete, verified historical birth. We are checking a qualification chain’s paraphrase. Filling boxes in a diagram has not established their presence in real material or demonstrated a predictive success rate.

The followed object still requires investigation

The explanation then asks which factor is followed. If following Wealth, take Wealth as the principal factor; if that Wealth is Wood, investigate its inclination, which may call for Fire or for Earth.[3] This does not support one permanently preferred element after every following-Wealth label. Establishing the object does not finish the functional question.

The continuation states that a cycle appropriately situated is necessarily favorable and otherwise adverse, extending the reasoning to following Sha.[4] Necessarily and otherwise are the traditional claim’s actual strength. We neither erase that strength nor endorse it as this site’s prediction. Its textual significance is that a genuine-following name still leaves a qualification about the cycle.

What is missing in apparent following?

Its explanation describes a weak day master and strong Wealth/Officer, an inability not to follow, yet some assistance within the material; this makes it apparent.[11] Compare some assistance with genuine following’s absence of even the slightest generating assistance. Preserve the double negative rather than rewriting it as absence of any following tendency.

The opening also says apparent following may allow advancement in the old status language.[10] Its preceding wording actually includes 之家; we retain that print rather than substituting a familiar text. The rhetorical “how many” is not a collected count. May prevents treating every apparent case as unusable without giving all such cases one guaranteed result.

Separate two checks: whether the strict genuine qualification is incomplete, and whether the remaining relationships can still be discussed through the recorded method. “Not this strict genuine state” does not mean “nothing can be discussed under any conditions.”

The Jia/Ji transformation example specifies time, number and position

The genuine-transformation opening again presupposes genuine establishment and says the transformed factor leaves several further topics.[5] Its Jia-day-master example requires birth in the period termed si ji (四季), just one Ji Earth, and combination at the month or hour.[6] The adjoining parenthetical note explicitly excludes the year stem for this example.[7] Seeing Jia and Ji alone cannot replace those number and position qualifications.

Si ji is the term actually printed, but this paragraph does not define it or list months. We retain the time qualification without translating it as all four seasons or supplying a month list. This is a limit of the quoted passage, not a claim that the entire book never explains the term.

The continuation’s no-encounter list contains Ren, Gui, Jia, Yi and Geng, followed by only then genuinely transformed.[8] Do not shorten it to Ren/Gui alone. Jia as day master is already the example’s stated object; we also do not turn this fragment into a program rejecting any Jia character whatsoever. Roles and positions require separate reading, not silently completed implementation details.

The transformed factor becomes the next explanatory subject

For Jia/Ji transforming into Earth, the explanation says yin-cold Earth needs Fire as Seal, while excessively flourishing Earth instead calls for Water as Wealth, Wood as Officer and Metal as Food/Injury.[9] The conditions retain Earth, coldness or excessive flourishing. They do not supply one identical use in every case.

The added insight is that the subsequent roles are discussed from the transformed Earth, rather than keeping Jia as their permanent center. Copying the four role names without transformation and the relevant conditions loses their basis. Coldness remains a model term here, not a medical diagnosis or heating recommendation.

Usable apparent transformation remains named apparent

Its explanation contains both an inability not to transform and a failure to be genuine: an isolated weak day master encounters the combining factor, but hidden assistance to the day master, or the stated weakness of the combining factor, leaves the strict qualification incomplete.[13] Combination appearing, a transformation tendency and genuine establishment are different questions. But and not genuine must remain.

When cycles raise the combining factor and control the assisting factor, the text allows use “although it is apparent transformation.”[14] Raising and controlling have different objects, while although it is retains the name. Usable does not mean renamed genuine; we do not supply that change.

The opening also includes an old orphan/different-surname metaphor.[12] We identify its rhetorical layer without inferring any real orphan’s identity, family or status. The image provides no independent evidence for the qualification chain.

Write out the missing premise

Check whether a paraphrase has expanded weak into isolated and without qi, having Ji into one Ji at the month/hour, or usable into genuinely transformed. Each change can be compared against its indicated page without first inventing a chart.

Our result is a reading of qualifications. Genuine/apparent does not directly assign factual truth, personal worth or fixed favorable outcomes. The four branches specify different conditions and gaps. Retaining strict premises, local-example scope and usable-yet-apparent states keeps the reasoning behind the labels visible.
