How to sample the sixty Jiazi day–hour judgments

Hold Jia–Zi day fixed and compare Jia–Zi, Yi–Chou and Bing–Yin hours, recording patterns, seasons, exclusions and cycle conditions instead of collecting destiny verdicts.

Large day/hour collections can be approached by controlling one comparison rather than counting favorable verdicts. We hold Jia–Zi day fixed and read three hour branches in sequence: Zi, Chou and Yin. The question is which relations, seasons and restrictions change in the text, not what life a person born at each hour is guaranteed.

The Qin Shen'an/Wenming witness is catalogued as 1926, NLC94145, juan 8. 六甲日甲子時斷 is at scan 267, printed page 1; 六甲日乙丑時斷 at scan 269, printed page 3; 六甲日丙寅時斷 at scan 270, printed page 4. [1–4] The hour branches are adjacent, not the physical pages: scan 268, printed page 2, continues the Zi-hour section.

Six Jia days does not mean we sampled sixty days

Each heading first discusses six Jia days at a particular hour, then enters Jia–Zi, Jia–Yin, Jia–Chen and the remaining day entries. We sample only Jia–Zi within each. Both day stem and branch therefore stay fixed, avoiding a mixture of changed hour and changed day conditions.

The hour is more than a branch. The actual headings say Jia–Zi, Yi–Chou and Bing–Yin, so hour stems change too. [1–3] Replacing only Zi, Chou and Yin in a table while keeping the previous relation would cease to represent the source. These are explicitly printed groupings, not reverse calculations of a Gregorian birth instant.

The pages also contain general statements, specific large-type day entries, small-type named examples and verse. The heading's cue about reading the avoided months together with the hour is original page material, not our modern addition. [1][3] A sampling record identifies its layer, without treating every neighbouring named example as independent evidence for every prediction.

Jia–Zi hour: a pattern name is followed by exclusion characters

The Jia–Zi day/hour entry on scan 267 includes 子遙巳格, “Zi remotely inviting Si pattern,” and 月無庚辛申酉丑絆午衝, specifying absence of Geng/Xin/Shen/You and Chou binding/Wu clash in its monthly qualification. [1] Those characters and relations cannot be dropped while retaining only Jia–Zi plus Jia–Zi.

The text then gives historical claims about leaving ancestral surroundings, independence and distinction, with further year/month and cycle discussion. We retain them as context without predicting a reader's family, status or occupation.

The specified characters are not a modern element-percentage threshold. A record identifies the paragraph's exclusions; it does not thereby become an automatic pattern detector covering the whole sixty-day/hour collection.

Yi–Chou hour: season changes the qualifying combination

The Jia–Zi day/Yi–Chou hour entry on scan 269 says 春月身旺, “In spring months the person is strong,” then gives an old property-loss evaluation. Summer instead has 甲衰,金神有制, “Jia declining, with Metal Spirit controlled,” followed by separate autumn and Chou/Hai/Zi statements. [2]

Spring and summer are not merely favorable/unfavorable labels. Personal strength, Jia's decline and controlled Metal Spirit perform different work in their respective combinations. Strength is the source's technical state, not a measurement of physical health. Nor can the Metal Spirit name replace its control qualification.

The preceding six-Jia-day/Yi–Chou overview also discusses hidden Ji/Xin, Yi's relation to Wealth and control through a Fire combination. [2] We do not transplant these into the Jia–Zi-hour paragraph. They show how this grouping changes the question. Comparing conditions provides substance without reproducing a catalogue of family and office predictions.

Bing–Yin hour: Lu, Food and passage through Fire enter

The selected scan-270 paragraph says 居春得祿。行火地,無庚辛金,貴. Our translation: “In spring, Lu is obtained. Passing through Fire, without Geng/Xin Metal, distinction is stated.” [3] Its overview discusses Jia Wood and Bing Food; later year/month combinations and a separately labelled 一云, “one account says,” follow.

This is no longer the preceding Metal-Spirit-control frame. Changing Yi–Chou to Bing–Yin while retaining identical relations and qualifications is not textual comparison. Record Lu, Food, passage through Fire and absence of Geng/Xin afresh, and mark the excerpt as local rather than a statement for every month and cycle.

“One account says” is another layer cue. Removing it and merging branches would produce an unconditional guarantee absent from the selected passage. Distinction remains historical predictive language, not an actual career result.

Sampling does not produce three destiny answers

The sample addresses organization of conditions, not the accuracy of all sixty-day judgments. Evaluative words do not establish coverage of actual lives. A heading supplies classification; its internal qualifications remain the material to inspect.

Use six fields: heading and specific day entry, relation or pattern, month/season, exclusions, cycle and voice. Retaining those fields when expanding a sample shows whether a difference comes from hour, day, month or an attributed account.

We do not turn “obtaining Lu” into a modern salary or Metal-Spirit control into a health or safety measure. Checkable relations and qualifications are preserved instead of compiling lifespan and marriage predictions into judgments about readers.

Return from the table to the birth-evidence boundary

These Jia–Zi fragments are textual objects without independently verified birth year, month, Gregorian date, place and modern time conventions. The table cannot make them complete valid charts or three verified personal cases.

A neighbouring name also needs separate identity and birth-field evidence. The next article selects one locatable small-type example to distinguish the book's record from external history. This sample does not complete that person's data in advance.

Table, diagram and explanations are original. Inspection covers these three selected Jia–Zi entries and necessary context, not the complete sixty-Jiazi day/hour collection or predictive accuracy. No modern commercial commentary or source facsimile is reproduced.

Evidence and source roles

These roles distinguish ancient text, older commentary, historical scholarship and tool reproduction. The numbered notes in the article retain the precise scan pages and explanations. Library and academic sources do not endorse predictive claims.
